ART SHOW - CALL FOR ENTRIES

wayne national forest art ohio

CALL FOR ENTRIES FOR ARTISTS:

“Off the Trail- A Conceptual Walk in Wayne National Forest.”

Are you an artist who has been inspired by Wayne National Forest? If you have work reflecting the beauty, conflict, history, or resilience of Ohio’s only national forest, then Keep Wayne Wild encourages you to submit your work for consideration for our travelling art show this summer and fall.

Keep Wayne Wild (KWW), is a group of dedicated volunteers working to protect Wayne National Forest (WNF) from predatory gas extraction activities. KWW works to highlight the beauty and intrinsic value of Wayne National Forest.  It is well known that people will protect what they love, and to that end, we have created: “Off the Trail- A Conceptual Walk in Wayne National Forest.”  It is our goal to showcase all that is wild and visually powerful about Ohio’s only national forest. We will only feature Ohio artists who directly draw inspiration from the Wayne, showcasing any mediums or styles. Spoken word and music will also be considered for opening night.  Attached are a few examples of the variety of work for which we are looking.  Please note, artists will be responsible for moving their work from gallery to gallery, or will be asked to sign a waiver of liability.

  • The show will start in Woodsfield, OH at the Woodsfield Library on July 22, 2017 through August 4, 2017.

  • Then on to the Riverside Artists Gallery in Marietta, OH starting August 4, 2017  until August 18, 2017

  • Possible shows pending in Athens and Columbus.

For submissions, please send images of your work to kwwoffthetrail@gmail.com   Include a brief comment on your work, the dimensions and mediums used, along with your name, email and phone number.  KWW will select the pieces that best align with our mission.  We look forward to seeing your representation of Ohio’s beloved forest!

Sincerely,

The Keep Wayne Wild Team
